A Historical Synopsis of Mt. Hermon
Jesus said, "Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Perhaps on June 6, 1951 these are the words that inspired Rev. David McBride and a few others to organize a church.
The Rev. Jessie Mack of Inkster, Michigan, served as moderator. It was voted that the church would be named Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church and Rev. David McBride would serve as pastor.
The Mt. Hermon Baptist Church continued at the residence of Rev. McBride until 1954 when he and the members marched into 24235 Sumpter Rd. Belleville, Michigan. Rev. McBride served as pastor for eleven years.

The Mt. Hermon Baptist Church thank God for her past and is extremely excited about its future. We are looking forward to what God will do next with this ministry. Galatians 6:9 reads, and let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
